STEM Lab, Supplies and More
We helped create an elementary STEM lab, provided STEM supplies and resources for all schools, brought Gateway to Science to every elementary school and Dickinson Middle School, and sponsored a District-wide Family Coding Night — sparking curiosity and hands-on learning for all!
Alumni Relations
We proudly support Dickinson High School by sponsoring the Athletic Hall of Fame Homecoming Suite, hosting a reunion luncheon with school tours, and keeping our Dickinson Public Schools’ graduate database up to date. From 50-year reunion open houses to Hall of Fame events, we love connecting alumni and celebrating our community!
Mystery Theatre Fundraiser
Our Annual Theatre Fundraiser – 20 Years Strong!
This beloved signature event brings our community together, raises funds for our grant program, and is something everyone looks forward to each year. Talented local cast members generously volunteer their time to entertain and inspire you — don’t miss it!
Communication Boards
A Story of Creating Connections
Imagine being at a gathering — people laughing, sharing food and stories — and you can’t find the words to join in. Now imagine a child experiencing that on the playground. Wouldn’t we do everything to help?
DPS school psychologists said, “Yes!” and secured a grant for elementary playground communication boards. These visual aids let students point to symbols, pictures, or words to express thoughts, needs, and emotions — giving every child a voice and a way to connect.
School psychologist Amber Fridley explains, “This innovative tool enhances communication for all students, supporting diverse abilities and giving every child a chance to be heard. It’s a game-changer for our playground!”

Communication Boards are Learning Tools for ALL
The communication boards promote natural play, friendship, cooperation, and even safety by allowing all students to engage in meaningful interactions with peers and adults, regardless of their communication abilities.
Dickinson Adult Learning Center
Citizenship and Civics Grant
The Dickinson Adult Learning Center (DALC) received a grant from the Dickinson Public Schools Foundation to provide materials to start a Citizenship and Civics course so their students could learn more about American history, understand how our democracy works, and help them prepare for the U.S. Citizenship interview.
DALC participants took a big yellow bus to Bismarck last spring. They toured the North Dakota State Capitol, met Governor Burgum, and had lunch with senators and representatives. They also visited the North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum.

This trip was the first step in creating a Citizenship and Civics class for DALC learners. “Hands-on-learning is often the best kind of learning.” stated Lindy Obach, DALC instructor that developed the course. The class started last fall and was held on Thursday evenings. They had 10 students from countries like Sri Lanka, Haiti, Guatemala and Mexico attending. In class, students are learning about U.S. History and Civics, N-400 Vocabulary and Citizenship interview skills. “The students are doing great!” reported Lindy.
The Foundation recently approved a mini grant and DALC learners travelled to Medora, ND to learn about the history of North Dakota.

Gallons of Gratitude
We’re thrilled to celebrate the Gallons of Gratitude program, generously supported by Tri-Energy Cooperative (Cenex)! This program empowers teachers by putting their voices and ideas at the center of how funds are used, helping enhance classrooms, celebrate staff, and enrich student experiences. Since 2021, over $150,000 has gone directly to DPS teachers, making a real difference in schools across our community. We are so grateful for Tri-Energy’s ongoing commitment to recognizing and supporting educators!

The Mission of the Dickinson Public Schools Foundation is to provide private, financial support to enrich the quality of education in the Dickinson Public Schools.
