DPS Foundation’s Mission

The mission of the Dickinson Public Schools Foundation, Inc. is to provide private, financial support to enrich the quality of education in the Dickinson Public Schools.

Who can apply for Foundation grants?

Applicants can be any Dickinson Public Schools educator, certified or classified staff, and/or administrator. Applications can be submitted for individual classrooms, grade levels, building/school-wide teams, district-wide teams, subject area/department teams.

Project Eligibility

The Foundation awards grants for educational projects that meet their mission, focus areas, and funding guidelines and improve educational opportunities for students. Grants must be approved by the building administrator.

Grants that will not be funded:

• Projects that are the school district’s responsibility;
• Furniture or playground equipment; and
• Grants that conflict with the district’s technology plan.

Apply for an Annual Grant

Grant applications can be filled out on our website from August 1st to December 15th using the integrated online application. Applicants are encouraged to review the grant rubric to understand the expectations and how proposals will be assessed. Applicants will be invited to present at our January meeting. Awards will be given in the month of February.

Apply for a Sponsorship Grant

Applications can be filled out on our website from August 1st to December 15th using the integrated online application. The Sponsorship Program provides continued funding for educational initiatives that have proven successful through prior DPS Foundation Grant Program. These projects must demonstrate lasting impact, align with the Foundation’s mission, and show continued value to students, staff, or the school community.

Do I qualify for a Sponsorship Grant?

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a previous recipient of a DPS Foundation Grant;

• Must show ongoing need or added benefit;

• Must explain why the district/building cannot fund the program long-term;

• Must have submitted all required reports for prior grants.

Application Deadline

Completed grant applications must be submitted by the application deadline December 15th.

Selection and Funding Process

1. Proposals will be competitively reviewed by the Program Allocations Committee. The committee makes recommendations to the DPSF board        for final approval and funding. Applicants may be asked to present at the January Foundation meeting.
2. The Foundation Board will notify the grant applicants and building administrator of their decision.
3. Equipment should be ordered as soon as possible. Final invoices are due by March 31 and must match the submitted budget.
4. Grant recipients must complete the requested Grant report(s) including descriptions, quotes, and photographs or videos.
5. Foundation grant equipment becomes the property of the Dickinson Public Schools once it is ordered. Recipients must follow the Inventory          Accountability and Guidelines provided by the Foundation.

 Grant Reporting Process

• Progress Reports must be submitted by April 1 and December 1st of the year awarded.
• If the grant was awarded for the next school year, funds must be used by November 1st. (Example: Grant Approved February 2025 must be used by November 2025)
• To remain eligible for future DPS Foundation grants and sponsorships, recipients must complete the Grant Report as requested.
